Does your P&C Association dry hire Amusement Devices?
If yes (“Dry Hire – the hire of equipment without an Operator”), this is not best practice and also no cover is likely to be provided under your Liability Insurance.
Under dry hire agreements, typically there are onerous contractual conditions being imposed upon the Hirer, in which indemnity is not afforded under a Liability Insurance policy contract and therefore excluded.
In addition, the business description of a P&C Association does not extend to include being an Amusement Device Operator.
P&C Associations are reminded to always engage the services of a professional and insured Contractor to operate any and all Amusement Devices (including Inflatables, Zorb Balls etc. and the like) at your events / fundraisers.
